Mallika sings birthday wishes for Narendra Modi
Mallika Sherawat wished the Bhartiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi on his 63rd birthday Tuesday through a video message that she shared on her Twitter handle. She also referred to him as "the most eligible bachelor".
"Here is my most special birthday wish for Narendra Modi, the most eligible bachelor of India," she said in her tweet Tuesday.
The video is available on YouTube and everyone is sharing it on the socialnetworking sites.
Predictably, some have criticised the "Murder" fame actress for being publicity hungry.
One of the comments on the video said: "She looks so desperate to gain attention."
Mallika, who as been away from the limelight, will be seen in the reality show "The Bachelorette India - Mere Khayalon Ki Mallika". At a press conference in Udaipur to promote the show, Mallika had called Modi the most eligible bachelor.
"It's Narendra Modi. He is smart, progressive and often misunderstood like me," the 36-year-old had said during the launch of the promotional trailer of the show.
According to biographer Nilanjan Mukhopadhyay, Modi married young but the marriage was unconsummated. He kept the wedding a secret because otherwise he would not have become a 'pracharak' in the puritan Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS).
"The Bachelorette India - Mere Khayalon Ki Mallika", a dating reality show, is about finding a match for the actress from among 30 contestants.
