Bantwal: Criminal serving life sentence escapes from prison

Bantwal, Sep 17: A criminal who was serving life sentence managed to escape after he was granted parole to visit his ailing mother. A complaint has been registered in this regard at the town police station.
The escapee has been identified as Isubu Moilar alias Yusuf Musliar, resident of Rengelu near Melkar in Panemangalore
In 2005, Isubu killed his second wife Mariamma and dumped her naked body in Gurupur Phalguni River under the Bajpe police station limits.
Bajpe police had registered a case under IPC section 302, 201 and submitted the charge sheet to the court. Mangalore sessions court which investigated the case found Isubu guilty and sentenced him to life imprisonment. As per the court judgment Isubu was taken to Belgaum prison.
Recently, on the pretext of his mother’s ill health he came down to his hometown on a 45-day parole. He was supposed to return to jail on September 4, but instead absconded.
On September 7, jail superintendent registered a complaint in this regard at Bantwal city police station. Police are on the lookout for the prisoner.
