Bangalore: CM returns from China tour

Bangalore, Sep 15: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who led a 22-member delegation to Dalian in China for the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF), returned to Bangalore on Sunday.

The Chief Minister took the opportunity of his first official tour abroad after occupying the top-most post in the State explained to delegates the potential sectors for investments in the State.

The State would be holding a Global Investors’ Meet in Bangalore next year.

Siddaramaiah showcased his government’s flagship programme of providing 30 kg rice at Re 1 per kg to the poor at the WEF.

He explained the salient features of the scheme to the international audience and said it would be strengthened once the Food Security Act of the Central government was implemented in the state too.

He had interacted with delegates from several countries, including Brazil and Netherlands.
