Bantwal: Man found dead under mysterious circumstances

Bantwal, Sep 8: A man was found dead under mysterious circumstances at Veerakambha here on Saturday, September 7, with his head in the gutter.

The dead man was identified as 46-year-old Maira resident Nagesh Poojary, a labourer.  He was the son of Venkappa Poojary.

The body was found near Anantadi road in Veerakamba with the head in the gutter.  The locals who saw the body informed the police who came and inspected the incident.

Nagesh was said to be an alcoholic and the incident is suspected to have occurred when he had gone to leave water for his garden.  He was married and has two sons aged four and two, and a daughter aged six years.    

As some people had objected to his leaving water to the garden, there are suspicions that those people might have murdered him.  On the other hand, others suspect that as he was an alcoholic, he might have put his head in the water causing his death.

A case of accidental death has been registered in Vittal police station.

    Pathetic ! May it be the addiction or enmity but three precious gems are orphans today and a woman is left all by herself to raise the children.

    I hope she has some basic education at-least (which I always advise parents of daughters) so that she musters courage to get out of the dominating family members and finds a job.

    Wish the children are given support for good education.
