New Delhi, Aug 31 (IANS): Continuing his attack on the government for its failure to arrest the rupee's slide and the economic slowdown, BJP leader Arun Jaitley Saturday said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh was without ideas to revive the economy and such a situation did not bode well for the country.
Picking up from his Friday's duel with the prime minister in parliament, Jaitley, the leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha, told the BJP's legal and legislative cell that the prime minister's response on reversing the slowdown and free fall of rupee clearly showed that he had run out of the options.
"Instead of telling us about the roadmap to improve the economy, he was angry and pessimistic. This attitude means you have no ideas on how to revive the economy. You have run out of ideas," contended Jaitley.
Hitting at the prime minister's prolonged silence, Jaitley said that silence was good if one was looking for an answer but too long a silence of the prime minister was not good for the country.
"It is extremely dangerous when the head of the country becomes cynical, pessimistic and cannot suggest a roadmap," he said.
