Kundapur, Jul 16: "These days several cases of caste discrimination are reported in Kalyana Mantaps, against which strict actions will be taken. In this regard, Kalyana Mantap and hall owners should be alert," said Kundapur DySP Yashoda S Vantagodi.
She addressed the meeting at Kundapur Rakteshwari temple hall on Monday July 15 evening where Kalyan Mantap owners of the taluk had participated.
Circle inspector Manjunath Kavari said "guidelines should be given to every Kalyan Mantap in the taluk so that people of all castes are treated equally’. At any cost, law will not bear the discrimination made on the grounds of caste and other factors."
At the meeting, Kalyan Mantap owners and police officials from Asamabailu, Byndoor, Shakaranarayana, Kundapur, Kollur station limits were present.
Jayaram D Gowda, assistant sub inspector of Kundapur welcomed and also proposed the vote of thanks.
