Kundapur, Jun 15: The final semester students from electrical and electronics engineering department of Mudlakatte institute of technology under the guidance of lecturer K M Bhat created a Savonius windmill turbine project.
Bipin B Shetty, Sandeep Acharya, Sandesh Hegde, Pradeep R were the students who were a part of the project. In this new innovation, similar kinds of magnets were attached on the bottom of the turbine blade. Through this, the windmill can function even when there is less air.
In yet another invention by final semester students namely Sachin, Sri Nidhi, Karthik MC, Manjunath Prabhu under the guidance of Antony Robert, have invented equipment through which electricity can be produced by using the energy wasted via walking.
Here by implementing the machine in places where there is heavy movement of people like bus stands, railway station, airports, footpath and other places, electricity can be produced continuously at less cost.
This equipment had cleared the first test successfully. For the students achievement, Sathish Shankar, head of electrical and electronics engineering, principal Dr Shubha P Bhat, director BR Samaga, managing director Siddarth Shetty have congratulated the students.
