Goa: Filipe Pereira at TAG’s Meet the Artiste on May 27

Goa, May 24: In its monthly programme organized by the Tiatr academy of Goa, its Filipe Pereira who will be the Tiatr artiste of the month interacting with his fans on Monday May 27, at 4 pm at TAG’s Conference Hall, Campal Trade Centre, Campal.

Originally hailing from Cortalim and residing at Chimbel, Filipe a versatile tiatr artiste has given his valuable contribution to the Tiatr Stage for the past 55 years. He first stepped on the tiatr stage at the age of 18 years in a village tiatr at Raia on the occasion of the Paris feast.

A very good comedian and lyrics composer he has composed over 200 songs till date and has also acted in the Zomnivello Khells a popular fete in the Salcete during the Carnival time. Amongst his most popular songs is Boxint Ghordi which is still aired on the All India Radio besides Dog Padrincho Pai, Bargekar, Konkani Amchi Maim Bhas, Padr Juze Vaz, Sorgest Joao Paulo Dusro Pap Saib, etc.

Filipe has also written and directed about 30 Tiatrs and one of his hit tiatr Fottkiro has been published by the Goa Konkani Akademi in a book form. A regular participant at the Kala Akademy’s  yearly Tiatr Festivals and Kantaram festivals Filipe has won awards numerous times.

A witty person and a Die Hard lover of Konkani Filipe at the age of 76 is still active on the stage. Recently he has been felicitated by the Kala Academy on the Tiatr Day on April 17 for his Lifetime Contribution to Tiatr.

All Tiatr lovers are requested to attend the said programme and interact with Filipe Pereira on May 27.
