Mangalore, May 24: Silvia Saldanha had alleged in a press conference held here on May 11 that a person named M Titus, who had been harassing her since the last several years, had begun staying in her house illegally since April 29, after driving her and her daughter out of their home with the help of Kankanady police inspector, Ravish.
M Titus has now clarified that the allegations made and information provided by Silvia were baseless and false.

“Dorothy Veigas, mother of Silvia Saldanha, had rented a house owned by Severine Lobo in building No 1-160. Severine later sold to me buildings having Nos from 1-154 to 1-162 along with 23.5 cents land in 1994 through a sale deed. I have been living in building No. 1-159 since last several decades. As Dorothy Veigas failed to vacate the building after I bought it, I had filed a suit in the court, to evict her from the building. Hearing in this case is pending. In the meanwhile, as Silvia Saldanha, with the support of Dorothy Veigas, tried to encroach upon my property and buildings, I filed a civil suit. The court, after holding hearings, issued a permanent injunction against encroaching upon or altering my properties by Silvia Saldanha and Dorothy Veigas as per order dated February 27, 2009,” he said.
He explained that acting against this injunction order, Silvia and some others tried to break down parts of the building, and blocked him from exercising his right over building No 1-159. “At my request, the court issued instructions to Kankanady police inspector to accord complete protection to me. Police inspector, Ravish, asked Silvia not to transgress the law, and she was never abused in filthy language as alleged,” he said.
Titus further said that he has already approached the court for legally evicting Silvia from building No 1-160, and that he would obey the court decision in the matter.
