Kundapur, Apr 28: Shivashankar from Kageri near Koteshwar, who was facing the charge abducting a Muslim girl and marrying her in a temple, has succeeded in getting his lady love back.
Reportedly, Shivasankar, who runs a mobile phone shop, got to know Ashwin Fa, a college student, when she came to his shop for recharging her phone. Both of them liked each other instantly. The father of the girl later filed a complaint, alleging that his minor daughter had been coaxed by Shivashankar into accompanying him, and that the accused had abducted Ashwin Fa at around 1 am on July 9, 2012.
The police, who had registered the case, had investigated the matter. Besides filing charge sheet against Shivashankar, they had housed the girl in rehabilitation centre in Nittoor.
As the girl turned major recently, she was produced in the court on Saturday April 27. The girl however, refused to go with her parents. As she is a major now, the court said that she can choose to go with anyone she wants, after which, she went with Shivashankar, it is learnt.
Lawyers, Ravikiran Murdeshwar,Jayaprakash Salins, Atmananda Shetty, N J Sebastian, and Pravin Shet had argued the case on behalf of the lovers.
