Mangalore, Apr 12: Muddu Moodabelle, senior announcer, ‘Akashvani’, Mangalore Center, who retired recently, was given a farewell by the Akashvani entertainment team on Thursday April 11.
Moodabelle served Akashvani for 28 years through his melodious voice and grabbed the attention of several listeners. He has had 28 works published. The Tulu work ‘Udhipu’ is now part of the syllabus for MA. He is well versed in languages like Kannada, English, Tulu, and Konkani and has contributed to the field of literature. In Akashvani, he was a ‘B’ grade play artiste.
Deputy director Ramesh Chandran who was the chief guest at the programme, lauded the achievements of Moodabelle.
Dr Vasanth Kumar Perla, in his address, said that after retirement, he should be a prosperous contributor to the field of literature and offer his service to the land of Kannada.
K Ashok, Dr Sadhanada Perla, Dr Sharbendra Swamy, Shakunthala R Kini, Narayani Damodhar, K R Kumar, and Sadhashiva Shetty shared their opinions.
