Mysore, Apr 11: Reliable sources said that retired director general of police, L Revanasiddaiah, noted cine directors, Nanjunde Gowda and Rajendra Singh Babu, as well as acclaimed lyricist and music director, Hamsalekha, will be joining the Congress on Sunday April 14.
They will be welcomed into the party fold at the convention of Congress workers from Chamundeshwari assembly constituency in the city to be held on that day.
Revanasiddaiah, after his retirement, had fought against Siddaramaiah in 2004 from the above constituency, but had to taste defeat. However, as Siddaramaiah changed his allegiance, Revanasiddaiah was compelled to support Siddaramaiah in the bypoll. Thereafter, the retired DGP joined BJP and contested the next election against Siddaramaiah, but was humbled once again. He has now decided to leave the BJP and join the Congress, as he is now willing to support his foe-turned-friend, Siddaramaiah.
