Beltangady, Mar 11: "Seeking blessings of god cleanses the person inwardly and outwardly. Both mind and soul are purified. From devotion comes strength, and one becomes free from all problems," said Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala Dharmadhikari Dr D Veerendra Heggade.
He was speaking after inaugurating Shiva Panchakshari recital held as part of Shivaratri celebrations at Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala here on Sunday March 10.
"We should look beyond outer beauty and purify ourselves from inside. With strong devotion, one can feel god's presence within oneself. We can get rid of our faults with Lord Shiva's blessings and enhance our power of thinking and ideas. If our intentions are clean and earnest, the fruit also will be sweet. From devotion to god we get special strength and confidence," he said.
He advised those undertaking 'padayatra' to do so with discipline, faith and alertness. "Do not make money in the name of padayatra. Do it with simplicity and discipline to maintain its sancitity," he said.
D Surendra Heggade, Supriya Harshendra Heggade, Shreyas Kumar and leader of padayatra teams from Bangalore Hanumantappa were present.
