New Delhi, Mar 1 (IANS): With an eye on the general elections next year, leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will meet in the national capital for three days beginning Friday.
The meeting of party's national executive will be inaugurated by party president Rajnath Singh at 3.45 p.m. Friday. It will be followed by a meeting of the party's national council Saturday and Sunday.
The national council will also endorse Rajnath Singh as party president.
With several voices already picking him as the best man to lead the party in the 2014 elections, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi is expected to be in the spotlight limelight at the meeting.
It will be the first meeting of the national council after Modi's third successive win in the assembly polls in Gujarat. Party sources said he could be made chief of the campaign committee for the Lok Sabha polls but an announcement was unlikely to be made at the national council meeting.
According to sources, the party will also prepare for the possibility of early Lok Sabha polls.
