Mangalore, Dec 18: Dakhina Kannada district unit of Sri Rama Sene strongly opposed the forthcoming India, Pakistan match series, scheduled to begin from December 25.
A protest was staged in front of the DC office in the city on Monday 17. The members of the unit demanded to stop the forthcoming cricket match.
“By allowing Pakistan to play in Bangalore at the Chinnaswamy Stadium, the government is appeasing the Muslims for their vote bank. For the forthcoming cricket tournament, government will issue 3000 visas to the Pakistanis. Sri Rama Sene will strongly condemns this. If government allows Pakistan to play cricket it will face severe consequences”, said Kumar Malemar Vibhag Chanalak of Sri Rama Sene.
“In 2008, government issued visas to 2000 Pakistanis, but 137 people never returned back to Pakistan. What are the remaining 137 Pakistanis doing in India? Where did they go? Government never bothered to think over it”, he added.
Madosudhan Urvastore, district convener, Ganesh Attavar, Jeevan Nirumarga were present on the occasion.
