Karkala, Oct 28: A three-day national-level technical fest, Tech Nidarshan -12 with a theme ‘invent, recycle, rejoice’ at NMAM Institute of Technology, Nitte was inaugurated on Sunday October 28 in Nitte campus by Gopikrishnan Konnanath, Centre Head, Infosys Mangalore.
In his inaugural speech, he said “1990 was the era of coding and decoding programms using computers and now it is the era of internet and mobile technology.” The future technology might include converting capital into an operational expenditure to save the cost and improve the quality, augmented reality, concept of perceptional computing and the concept of 3D printing, he added.
Addressing the huge crowd of students he said to play with acts; create act to trigger innovation and harvest creativity in the global scenario, he added.
The principal of the institute Dr Niranjan N Chiplunkar in his presidential speech said, “Everybody is good at something and excel yourself in which you are good in by making use of the opportunity”.
“If one looks at the changes happening, those were the days our class rooms were chalk and talk type but now they are click and look type.Those were the days if you invent something immediately it has to be published for the awareness of the people. But now it is not sufficient. you need to have a patent, implement in the product and prosper”, he added.
Vice principal and dean (academics) Dr Ramesh Mithanthaya, chief coordinator Dr Yuvaraju B N, student coordinator Shravan were present on the dais.
Heads of various institutions of Nitte Education Trust, heads of the departments and large number of students were present during the occasion.
About 1200 students from 50 different engineering colleges all over the country have started registering for various technical events in the fest.
