Bangalore, Aug 28: Kodial Khaber, the only Konkani fortnightly of coastal Karnataka published from Mangalore, presented the Saraswat Yuva Puraskars at a function held at Sri Kashi Mutt, Malleshwara here recently.
Aarti Nayak, a renowned Hindustani classical singer from Goa in the field of culture, Nandan Kamath of Gosports Foundation Bangalore in the field of entrepreneurship and Anugraha Charitable Trust in the field of social service were conferred with the Kodial Khaber Saraswath Yuva Puraskar - 2012 for their outstanding contribution in their chosen field. Dr P Dayanand Pai of Century Group inaugurated the function.
Upendra Nayak and Susheela Padiar were the chief guests of the occasion. R Bhaskar Shenoi, president, and C Surendranath Naik, trustee, accepted the award on behalf of Anugraha. Nagendra Shenoy, Gopal Pai Mani and Archana Bhandarkar introduced the awardees.
G S B Mahila Vrinda, Bangalore, was also honoured during the function on their Silver Jubilee. Githa Pai, president, along with vice president Malati Kamath received the honour from Dr P Dayanand Pai.
Mamatha Kamath from Mysore was the master of the ceremony. Nitin Bhandary, Rajesh Pai and Pratibha Kini presented garlands to the guests. M Venkatesh Baliga, editor of Kodial Khaber welcomed the gathering and Vivek N Baliga proposed the vote of thanks. The function started with a Bharathnatyam presentation by Kiran Kamath Shevgoor.
