Mangalore, Aug 25: Dr Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala , a titan in the field of education, a colossus in the field of rural development as well as president of Arecanut research and development foundation will inaugurate as well as preside over ‘Krishi Yantra Mela -II 2012’, to be held at Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur from November 2 to 4.
This was informed by the CAMPCO president as well as managing trustee of Arecanut Research and Development Foundation, Konkodi Padmanabh in a press release.
Well-known cooperative,CAMPCO, Arecanut Research and Development Foundation and Vivekananda College of Engineering and Technology, Puttur will be jointly organizing the event. Initial preparations for the event are on in full swing.
The mela will showcase implements, machinery and gadgets that are of interest to farmers. There will be demonstrations and exhibitions of these too.
Opportunities will be provided to students of engineering colleges situated in areas where arecanut is grown to showcase agricultural machinery designed by them.
The best in this field will also be awarded. In addition, agricultural machinery designed and developed by progressive agriculturists will also be displayed. Banking loans will also be arranged for them.
All firms, corporates, manufacturers, distributors and others who wish to participate in the event will have to register themselves within September 19.
