Bangalore, Jun 2: Kevin Misquith and his livewire band ‘Milestone’ will be performing on Sunday June 10 at Mother Veronica Auditorium, Carmel Convent, East End main Road, Jaynagar, here.

The live concert will provide an opportunity to Konkani music lovers of Bangalore to get a taste of a different kind of Konkani music for which Kevin and his band is known for.

Kevin and his band has been creating ripples across the Konkani music world with their robust on-stage performances and passionate singing, and this has won them a dedicated band of followers and admirers in Konkani music. This being the 22nd live concert, Kevin Misquith and the band ‘Milestone’, has certainly come a long way within a short period, to find a strong foothold in Konkani music world with their peppy music, which is full of life.

Innovation has been the keystone of Kevin Misquith and Milestone shows, who have succeeded in establishing a niche in the competitive contemporary Konkani music world by being ‘different’. This has worked wonders for the band which has been climbing the ladder of popularity in Konkani music circles for the sheer energy they exude in their music. It goes to the credit of Kevin that within a short period of his music career he has been able to perform consistently doling out quality music with 22 fully fledged music nites, hundreds of other music gigs and four music albums to his credit.

His recently released album ‘thembe thembe’ which features lyrics from top grass Konkani poets like Melwyn Rodrigues, Kishoo Barkur, HM, Wilson etc  with a fresh breath of music in Konkani has already been a big hit with good reviews, feedbacks and record sales at the stores. This show will also feature songs from his new release.

Milestone band
Milestone is one of the most youthful and talented music bands of Mangalore. Playing music ranging from soft ballads, disco, rock, pop, folk, fusion to foot tapping Baila numbers; Milestone plays all kinds of genres with a blend of coastal essence to go with it. The Konkani music on the west coast of India particularly from Mangalore and Goa is the soul of the band. The band has been very popular by performing for Kevin’s music shows, private events and wedding receptions in and around Mangalore.

Kevin will be accompanied by Joshal D’souza, Clement Fernandes and Ashwin Sequeira with the vocals, while  his band ‘Milestone’ which includes Jackson Noronha on the keyboards , Clyde Lobo on the lead guitar, Rikith Soans on the bass and Patson Pereira on the drums will score the background music. Bindaas Pernal lead by Alwyn Danthi and Melwyn Castelino will entertain the crowd with their comedy. Vernon D’souza will anchor the concert. 

The Konkani music lovers in Bangalore are in for a delightful treat presented by the Konkani Samudai, Konkani Samudai Jayanagar will be organizing this event in aid of the student’s education fund and has requested Konkani music lovers of Bangalore to come in large numbers to enjoy the musical evening and also support their noble cause.
