Kundapur, May 24: “The Ganiga community has significantly contributed to promoting Yakshangana. Ganiga Yuva Sangatan that is being mentored by community elders deserves to be commended for distributing free books and umbrellas to students,” said H Sridar Hande, convener, Saligrama children’s Yakshagana troupe.
He was speaking at the community ‘Satyanarayan Puja’ and programme for free distribution of note books and umbrellas to students organized by Ganiga Yuva Sangatan at Sharada Kalyana Mantap, Koteshwar, on Sunday May 20.
Hande urged the parents to support the aspirations of their children. Ganiga Yuva Sangatan–Koteshwar unit president B G Nagaraj presided the programme.
Kundapur Nudisiri unit chief secretary Subramanya Shetty, Ganiga Yuva Sangatan Kota unit president Prashant Ganiga, honorary president Shankaranarayan Ganiga, chief secretary Chandrashekar Beejady, and treasurer Girish B N were present on the occasion.
Prabhakar B Kumbashi welcomed the gathering. Journalist Chandrashekar Beejady compered the programme. Teacher K S Manjunath presented the report. Former army personnel Ramachandra Ganiga proposed the vote of thanks.
