Udupi, May 23: Vishweshwaraiah Hegde Kageri, minister for primary and secondary education said that schools will commence on Wednesday May 30, 2012, here at Rajathadri Manipal on Tuesday May 22.
The teachers will report one day before the re-opening day on May 29. There will be a meeting for teachers to improve the standard of education in schools. "Around 80% books have already been delivered to schools. The rest of the books will be distributed to children after the school starts,” he explained.
The right of children for Free and Compulsory Education will be implemented in the district. The school will take care of all poor students.
He also congratulated all teachers, parents and students who played an important role in helping Udupi to get the first position in the SSLC result. The percentage of results (89.53%) has improved by 2.23 % from last year, he informed.
This year CBSE syllabus will be introduced for PUC. The teachers will be trained to tackle the syllabus properly, he assured.
