Mangalore, May 22: Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner (DC) Dr N S Channappa Gowda instructed all principals of district pre-university colleges to compulsorily display seat matrices prominently on their notice boards.
Addressing the principals of pre-university colleges at DC’s office on Monday May 21, Dr Gowda advised the principals to follow the department circulars as SSLC results have already been published, by displaying relevant information on college notice boards and also on their websites.
“The admission process has to follow the departmental guidelines. The district-level teams of the education control board will visit various colleges in this regard. The college authorities have to display all the information such as time table, enrolment list, category wise students list, college fees fixed by government, and tuition fees on the notice boards of respective colleges,” added Dr Gowda.
The DC also advised colleges not to conduct another entrance test in the process of admissions. “The income and caste certificates are valid for 5 years, and there is no need for new certificates every year. The maximum annual income for backward class students is Rs 11,000, and there is no need to submit the original during the admission. The certified copies are valid for this purpose,” he added.
He also advised them to log into www.pue.kar.nic in case of any confusion related to the admission process. The students have to be issued admission forms as per the specimen of the department.
AC Dayanand and acting DDPU Rajaveera Indra were present on the occasion.
