Bhatkal, May 19: Soujanya S Hegde top scored with 600 marks out of 625 (RNS Vidya Niketan High School, Murdeshwar) in Bhatkal taluk as Naunihal School secured first rank again in Bhatkal taluk by producing one hundred percent results.
Naunihal Central School Bhatkal, for the third consecutive year has repeated this feat in the SSLC exams. In all, 27 students appeared for the examination. Out of them, nine students secured distinction, 17 students got first class and remaining one got the second class.
Soujanya is the daughter of Shankar Hegde and Maha Laxmi Bhatt. Shankar Hegde is a computer operator of RNS Poly Technic College Murdeshwar and her mother Maha Laxmi Bhat is a teacher in Murdeshwar School.
Talking Daijiworld, she said "My parent’s motivation and the support of the teachers are the only mantra in achieving this success". Afra Shamul Syed Muzaffar of Naunihal Central School, Bhatkal, and Samah Barmawar of Anjuman Girls High School Bhatkal, scored 597 marks, Fathima Urfa Abdurrassaque Ruknuddin (583) and Ayesha Ayub Musba (559) are the other following toppers in the district.
Some other students who scored good marks in the taluk are Chethan Ganesh Thernamakki of Vishwabharathi School Begre socred 593, Shrinidhi Seetharam Bhat of Janath Vidhyalay, Murdeshwar scored 585, Chandrika Manjunath Moger, Govt School, Belke socred 582, Vidya Baskar Hegde of SPSH School, Marukeri scored 574, Kirthi K Prabhu of English School, Bhatkal scored 573.
As many as 10,076 students appeared for the exam this year from Karwar district, out of which 8,629 passed in the exam. From Bhatkal a total of 2,261 students (1110-boys and 1151-girls) appeared in SSLC exam this year from 31 schools of the district.
