Baghdad, Apr 22 (IANS): The governor of eastern Iraq's Diyala province Saturday survived a roadside bomb explosion that targetted his convoy, Xinhua reported.
Governor Hisham al-Hiyali was travelling Saturday near the provincial capital city of Baquba, 65 km from Baghdad, an official said.
Three of Hiyali's bodyguards were wounded in the blast, which also damaged one of his vehicles.
In other bomb attacks in Iraq, at least three people died and 17 others were injured.
Two roadside bombs went off near two mini-buses in the Shia neighborhood of Chikook in Baghdad, killing three people and wounding 12 others, an interior ministry source said.
In the western Anbar province, two policemen were injured when a sticky bomb attached to their car detonated near provincial capital Ramadi, 110 km from Baghdad, police told Xinhua.
