Udupi, Mar 29: The city-based social and cultural organization Amogha® celebrated ‘World Theater Day’ at Durga International on Tuesday March 27.
Udyavar Madhava Acharya presided over the programme on Tuesday.
Speaking on the occasion, Acharya said that the district centre needs a theater since the stage artistes are active in their profession.
“It also needs a museum to store the records of veteran achievers which will create interest among the new generation of youth in theater. Veteran stage artiste K G Tantri contributed significantly to theater in the district,” said Acharya.
Playwright and stage artiste Professor Ramdas, and play director and artiste Rajagopal Shet were felicitated on the same occasion.
Muralidhar Upadhyaya and Poornima were also present.
