Mangalore: Police Seize 432 Litres of Illicit Liquor, Three Nabbed

Mangalore, Mar 21: The excise police arrested three persons on charges of smuggling liquor from Goa to Kerala at Alape-Padil here at 3.30 am on Wednesday March 21.
Police seized 432 litres of Goa-made liquor and also a Maruti Zen car, altogether worth about Rs 3 lac.
The arrested have been identified as 34-year-old Vishwanat alias Vasant from Kadar, Kasargod, 29-year-old Anil Kumar K Y from Mogral Puttur, Kasargod, and Manoj Kumar V N, Bedradka, Kasargod.
The operation was carried out on the orders of Mangalore division excise joint commissioner K C Haridas and Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner B V Hoovappa Gowda, by excise inspector M K Keshavamurti, assistant sub inspector B S Devarajappa, police personnel Ganesh Shetty, Pradeep Kumar, Manju C, Parashivamurti, Basavaraju, jeep driver Ganesh Gowda and Hariyappa.
