Bengaluru, Apr 16: A disturbing incident in Bengaluru’s Shivajinagar area has sparked outrage after a youth allegedly flashed his private parts at a homemaker and then assaulted seven people, including her husband and his own mother, when confronted.

The incident took place on Saturday, April 13, but came to light after the injured victims sought medical help and filed a police complaint.

According to Shivajinagar police, the accused, identified as Karthik, reportedly exposed himself to a woman while she was walking on the second floor of her house. He is said to have made obscene gestures from his residence opposite hers, suggesting sexual advances.

Shocked and distressed, the woman raised an alarm and informed her husband. When her husband and neighbours questioned the youth, Karthik turned violent and allegedly attacked them using hollow blocks, flower pots, and glass pieces. In the chaos, he also assaulted his own mother, who tried to intervene.

Seven people were injured in the attack, of whom three are said to be in the Intensive Care Unit. The police said the accused is a habitual offender and has previously misbehaved with women in the neighbourhood.

A case has been registered at the Shivajinagar police station. The accused fled the scene and remains at large. A manhunt is underway to apprehend him.

In a separate incident earlier this week, a video surfaced on social media showing a man harassing two women walking alone on a dimly lit street. The footage showed the man pushing one of the women and sexually assaulting the other before fleeing. The accused in that case, identified as 26-year-old Santosh Daniel, was later arrested from a village in Kerala.
