Mumbai, Apr 16: Celebrations are in full swing for former Indian pacer Zaheer Khan and actress Sagarika Ghatge as the couple welcomed their first child, a baby boy, into the world. The heartwarming announcement came on Wednesday via social media, where the couple shared a beautiful greyscale family photograph.
In the touching image, Zaheer is seen cradling the newborn, while Sagarika stands behind him, wrapping her arms around both father and son. Captioning the post, they wrote, "With love, gratitude and divine blessings we welcome our precious little baby boy, Fatehsinh Khan."
The post was flooded with congratulatory messages from across the cricket and entertainment worlds. Actor Angad Bedi responded with a spiritual “Waheguru,” while senior cricketer Harbhajan Singh wrote, “Congratulations to you both. Waheguru Meher Kare.” Former teammate Suresh Raina and cricket commentator Aakash Chopra also showered blessings on the couple and their newborn.
Zaheer and Sagarika, who tied the knot in November 2017 through a simple court marriage followed by a star-studded reception in Mumbai, have often been admired for their low-key yet elegant presence both in cricketing and film circles.
Zaheer, a vital part of India’s 2011 World Cup-winning squad, has remained connected to cricket post-retirement. After his stint with Mumbai Indians as Director of Cricket and later as Head of Global Development, he’s currently serving as a mentor to the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 2025 Indian Premier League season.
LSG, who are mid-table with four wins in seven matches, will next face Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday. While the team is focusing on making a comeback after their recent loss to Chennai Super Kings, Zaheer's family milestone has added a new reason for joy and celebration.
Fans and well-wishers across the country continue to send their love to the new parents and little Fatehsinh Khan.
