Media Release

Karkala, Apr 15: The department of Kannada and culture, government of Karnataka, and Yaksha Rangaayana, jointly organized the celebration of Dr B R Ambedkar Jayanti, at the Koti Chennaya Theme Park, Karkala, on April 14.

Prof Kokkare Surendranath Shetty, retired head of the department of political science, MGM College, Udupi, delivering a keynote address on the topic, said, "The Indian Constitution is not a scripture limited to any caste, religion, language, or region. It is a sacred and supreme document that reflects our national identity. When we, burdened by preconceived notions, look at the Indian Constitution, we tend to appear as narrow-minded individuals and that is one of the biggest problems today. The principles of equality, fraternity, and harmony are indeed the core ideals of our Constitution. It is through the relentless efforts of great constitutional expert Dr B R Ambedkar that we are blessed with one of the finest constitutions in the world. Therefore, let us all uphold and preserve the Indian Constitution for the peace and well-being of everyone."

The event was presided over by B R Venkataramana Aithal, director of Yaksha Rangaayana, who also delivered the introductory remarks.

Ranga Samaja member Mahantesh Gajendragad Bagalkot graced the occasion as the chief guest. Students of the Ranga Adhyayana Training Centre and local dignitaries actively participated in the event.
