Chennai, Apr 15: Proving once again why he's fondly called "Thala" by fans, Tamil superstar Ajith Kumar has delivered a thunderous hit with his latest release, Good Bad Ugly. The action-packed entertainer, directed by Adhik Ravichandran, has struck gold at the box office, surpassing expectations and storming past the Rs 150 cr mark globally within just five days of its release.
After a lukewarm response to Vidaamuyarchi earlier this year, Ajith has made a powerful comeback. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the film has raked in an impressive Rs 14.56 cr nett on Day 5 (Monday) in India, pushing its domestic total to Rs 100.86 cr. The film’s worldwide gross now stands at a whopping Rs 150 cr, overtaking the lifetime collection of Vidaamuyarchi, which stood at Rs 135.65 cr.

Despite witnessing a 34.71% drop compared to Sunday’s robust earnings of Rs 22.3 cr, Good Bad Ugly marked Ajith’s strongest-ever first Monday performance. For comparison, his previous hits like Viswasam earned Rs 8.45 cr, Nerkonda Paarvai Rs 7.54 cr, Valimai Rs 5.50 cr, Thunivu Rs 10.8 cr, and Vidaamuyarchi only Rs 3.8 cr on their respective Mondays.
In the Tamil Nadu region, the film enjoyed a healthy occupancy of 52.99% on Monday. Morning shows began with 37.12% attendance, which rose sharply to 63.85% in the afternoon. While evening and night shows saw slight dips at 59.41% and 51.59% respectively, the film continued its stronghold in theatres across the state.
With its potent mix of mass appeal, action, and Ajith Kumar’s magnetic screen presence, Good Bad Ugly has clearly emerged as the month’s biggest blockbuster, outshining other recent releases including Sikandar and Jaat. Fans and trade analysts alike are watching closely as the film continues its triumphant run at the box office.
