Mangaluru, April 9: The State BJP organised a 'Janakrosha Rally' from Jyothi Circle to the Clock Tower on Wednesday, April 9, protesting against the Siddaramaiah-led state government.
The rally condemned the rising prices, the 4% reservation for Muslim contractors, and the alleged misuse of funds allocated for Dalits.
The rally saw participation from several prominent BJP leaders, including State BJP president B Y Vijayendra, former chief minister D V Sadananda Gowda, Leader of Opposition in Council Chalavadi Narayanaswamy, MP Capt Brijesh Chowta, former minister Sriramulu, MLAs Vedavyas Kamath, Dr Bharath Y. Shetty, Harish Poonja, and others.

BJP State president B Y Vijayendra addressed the gathering, stating, "The Siddaramaiah government is insulting Hindus in the state. The accused in the Praveen Nettaru murder case, who is an anti-national, was given a kiss on his forehead by another anti-national on his arrival at the court. Had the BJP been in power, we would shoot that anti-national. We need to hold the anti-Hindu Congress government accountable. Siddaramaiah has allotted reservation for the Muslim community in the budget, and this is something the government should be ashamed of."
Vijayendra continued, "Since Siddaramaiah took power, prices of essential commodities have surged. He is not acting as the Chief Minister of the state but rather as the Chief Minister of the Congress. How many times has he visited Mangaluru and allocated funds to the district? When Yeddyurappa was Chief Minister, Rs 19,500 crore was provided to the district. Is Siddaramaiah the Chief Minister of the state or just Bengaluru? He is more concerned about losing his seat to DK Shivakumar."
Former minister Sriramulu also addressed the rally, saying, "Whenever the Congress government comes to power, jihadis celebrate because they are empowered to attack Hindus. Now, jihadis are emerging again under Siddaramaiah's government, and we must teach them a lesson. The Congress is withdrawing cases against PFI, but when the BJP was in power, we did not do that. Our biggest failure was not withdrawing the cases against Hindu organisations, but when the BJP comes to power in 2028, we will rectify that. We are confident that the BJP will return to power, and I urge our representatives to avoid taking extreme steps."
