New Delhi, Apr 8: In the ongoing Senior Men’s National Basketball Championship, Jammu & Kashmir and Chhattisgarh found themselves relegated to Division C, while Chandigarh and Uttarakhand clinched crucial victories to secure their spots in Division B.
In a tightly contested series of classification matches, the performances from teams across the board reflected both high stakes and rising talent. J&K and Chhattisgarh, despite showing flashes of brilliance during the group stages, were unable to maintain momentum in their crucial knockout fixtures, ultimately dropping to Division C for the next season.

On the other hand, Chandigarh and Uttarakhand put up impressive displays, demonstrating consistency and tactical discipline, which earned them well-deserved promotions into Division B. Their victories were cheered by supporters and coaches alike, as both states look to build further on this achievement and aim higher in the next edition.
Officials from the Basketball Federation of India commended the high level of competition and sportsmanship shown throughout the tournament. “This championship continues to serve as a strong platform for emerging talent, and the promotion-relegation structure keeps teams hungry and competitive,” an official noted.
The Senior Nationals have seen renewed attention in recent years, with increased participation and improved infrastructure playing a key role in the growth of the sport across Indian states.
