Mangalore: Swami Sudhindrateerta Extols Virtues of Performing Charity

Mangalore, Jan 18: “God is compassionate and loving and always fulfills the wishes of devotees.  One who does charity will be dear to Him, than the miser who makes his or her life miserable and that of others too,” said Swami Sudhindrateerta of Kashi Mutt.

He was delivering his message to the devotees during a stage programme held at Venkataramana Temple, Car Street, on Tuesday January 17.  It was held on the occasion of the re-installation ceremony of the temple deity.


Swami Sudhindrateerta’s heir Swami Samyameendrateerta was also present on the dais.
Badragiri Achyutadas, temple renovation committee honorary president Dr P Dayanand Pai, Mundkoor Ramdas Kamat, Jagannat Kamat, T Ganapati Pai, Nityanand Nayak, and Madhav Kamat were also present.

Swami Sudhindrateerta felicitated the volunteers and donors during the programme. Temple managing trustee C L Shenoy welcomed the gathering.

Free food was provided to nearly 45,000 devotees at the temple on Tuesday from 12.30 pm to 10.00 pm.
