Udupi, Mar 27: Krishna Shetty, youth congress Udupi district president, has raised a question about the double standards displayed questioning the response of MLAs Sunil Kumar and Yashpal Suvarna by the BJP after BJP National president JP Nadda recently announced the distribution of Eid kits to 32 lacs Muslim families in the name of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Krishna Shetty states that, “There is no objection to giving Eid kits to Muslims. What would have happened if the Congress had organized such a program? What would the reaction of the self-proclaimed Hindu lawmakers and leaders of the coastal region have been?”

Krishna Shetty further said that, “If the congress had distributed Eid kits BJP leaders would have already taken to the streets. They would have raised slogans in the assembly and on the streets, accusing Congress of appeasing Muslim and practicing vote-bank politics. But now, BJP leaders themselves are distributing Eid kits to Muslim in the name of ‘Saugat-e-Modi’. Isn’t this appeasement? Isn’t this vote-bank politics?
Krishna Shetty questions the courage and integrity of leaders like MLA Karkala Sunil Kumar, MLA Udupi Yashpal Suvara and others who follow them.
