Udupi, Mar 27: Suggi Maripooja which takes place annually at Hale Sri Mariamma Temple, Hosa Sri Marigudi Temple and third Sri Mariamma Temple was held on March 25 and 26.

On March 25, the ornaments of Hale Marigudi from Sri Venkataramana temple, Hosa Marigudi and third Marigudi from Sri Lakshmi Janardana Temple were brought in a grand procession. Then the idol of carved in the Honeysuckle tree was placed on Gadduge, and later pooja rituals were performed.

On March 26 devotees were allowed to offer their prayer to Mariamma till afternoon. After the distribution of prasadam, the idol of Mariamma was taken through procession and placed in a specific place, followed by the Maripooja.

Special services were performed in the Gadduge (main Shrine), along with Hoovina Pooje (Flower Pooja), Kumkum Archana, and various other services and offerings were offered. More than 200 stalls were open on the day with strict police protection.

The grand launch of Moolanidhi Abhiyan was given on March 25, through a special program in presence of dignitaries at hale Marigudi, which has been resolved to be completely renovated. The renovation logo was released and donation boxes were distributed to devotees. Thousands of devotees participated in the Gopura Utsava held on the day.
