Five-year-old girl raped in Bhind; accused arrested

Bhopal, Mar 8: A five-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a 50-year-old man in Kanhari village, Mehgaon police station area of Bhind district, Madhya Pradesh.

Police arrested the accused after receiving a complaint from the victim’s parents. According to officials, the accused is a resident of Rampura police station area in Jalon district, Uttar Pradesh.

He has been booked under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and sections 376 (rape) and 363 (kidnapping) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).

The crime reportedly took place on the night of March 3-4 when the victim’s parents were attending a wedding.

The child went missing around 11:30 p.m., prompting an overnight search. She was found the next morning near the wedding venue, reportedly left there by an unknown person.

The incident came to light when the child showed signs of discomfort and distress. Upon inquiry, she revealed the assault to her parents, who immediately approached the police.

A medical examination confirmed the crime. Police are investigating further to gather more details about the incident.
