Patna, Mar 8: On the occasion of International Women's Day, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reiterated his unwavering commitment to women's empowerment and progress.
Speaking at the 'Nari Shakti Sammelan' held at the JD(U) headquarters in Patna, he highlighted the transformative initiatives his government has implemented to uplift women since he took office.
In a scathing critique of past administrations, CM Nitish accused the previous Lalu-Rabri regime of neglecting women's welfare, stating, "The leaders before us did nothing for women. Today, women are excelling in every field in large numbers."
Extending his heartfelt wishes to women across Bihar and India, the Chief Minister underscored their indispensable role in the state's development. "The progress of any state or nation is incomplete without the active participation of women," he asserted.
He reaffirmed his administration’s ongoing efforts in ensuring women’s safety, education, economic empowerment, and overall well-being, urging citizens to take a pledge to support women's advancement in all spheres of life.
The event also witnessed a politically charged moment as women leaders voiced their unwavering support for Nitish Kumar’s leadership, raising slogans of 'Nitish Again 2025' in anticipation of the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections. The overwhelming presence of women at the gathering signaled the widespread impact of his policies on gender equality and empowerment.
Encouraging women to step forward and assume leadership roles, CM Nitish applauded their achievements and urged them to seize opportunities in every sector.
Beyond the Women's Day celebrations, the Chief Minister also undertook a series of key inaugurations. He launched model traffic police posts in Patna, inspected the wildlife animal hospital at Zoo Safari in Rajgir, and unveiled both an aviary and the Samrat Jarasangh Monument—further contributing to the state's infrastructure and conservation efforts.
