Mangalore, Jan 13: A delegation of Dakshina Kannada district unit of youth Congress, under the leadership of its president, Mithun Rai, presented a memorandum to the district deputy commissioner, N S Channappa Gowda, on Thursday January 12, blaming the BJP government in the state of failing to properly implement schemes meant for developing the youth.
The delegation said that the BJP government had promised to take steps, and implement various programmes, towards helping the youth to acquire skills, pursue education, bag job etc, but had failed to do so. They blamed the government of donating Rs 250 crore to students’ council in the name of educating students about terrorist activities. “Sangh Parivar outfits have been disturbing social fabric as witnessed in Hubli, Sindhagi, Datta Peeta etc. BJP leaders continue to criticize constitutional authorities instead of creating a sense of respect and faith in them. Crores of rupees, which could otherwise have been utilized to help the youth, are being given to religious organizations.
The government has not been properly utilizing the schemes of the central government for the benefit of youth efficiently,” they alleged. They asked the deputy commissioner to initiate steps to contain anti social organizations which disturb communal harmony, and encourage youth to engage in unlawful and destructive activities.
The delegation had vice president of youth Congress district unit, Tejasvi Raj, general secretaries, Mohammed Altaf and Rolf Sequeira, Mangalore south assembly president, Praveen Alva, Bantwal assembly president, Vishwanath Gowda, secretaries, Chetan, Girish, Lateef Kandak, Adil Adnan, Kritin Kumar and Ashraf Bajal as its members.
