Mangaluru, Feb 13: The seventh annual convocation day of Srinivas University was held at Srinivas University Mukka campus on Thursday, February 13.
Speaking on the occasion of 7th Convocation of the university, the chief guest, Dr Prof P L Dharma, vice chancellor of Mangalore University, emphasised the significance of the number 7, explaining that it represents '7 births (janma)'. On this special occasion, he shared his '7 mantras of success in life' with the graduates: Respecting the Parents, Be the Change Maker, Enhance the Skills, Be Physically Fit, Contribute to the Environment with innovative methods, Develop the good habit of Reading more books, and Take Risk in the life.
Prof Dharma encouraged the graduates to enhance their intelligence by acquiring both knowledge and skills, preparing them to compete with the rapidly advancing Artificial Intelligence in today's world.
Chancellor of Srinivas University and president of A Shama Rao Foundation Mangalore, Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao in his presidential address emphasised that all the modern-day academic supports and facilities are being provided at Srinivas University for the overall development. He also said that, students should dream big and should have goals in life, be productive, and contribute to the society, humanity and nation.
The guest of honour, pro chancellor of Srinivas University, vice president of A Shama Rao Foundation Mangalore, Dr A Srinivas Rao administered the professional and ethical oath to the graduates and congratulated the parents for the successful graduation of their children. He advised the graduates to grow in life without ego, and work hard to get success in this competitive world.
Srinivas University's vice-chancellor, Dr Sathyanarayanan Reddy, presented the annual report. Srinivas University board of governors trustee members A Vijayalakshmi R Rao, Prof Er Smt A Mithra S Rao. Srinivas University registrar Dr Anil Kumar, registrar of evaluation Dr Shrinivas Mayya D, registrar of development Dr Ajay Kumar, registrar of academic Dr Aditya Kumar Maiya, and deans of various institutions of Srinivas University were present.
During the convocation, 2233 graduates (PG - 645, UG – 1588) received their certificates. The University announced 222 ranks for various programmes, with a total of 46 graduates receiving the Chancellor’s Gold Medal. Additionally, 64 Ph.Ds were awarded during this event.
Srinivas University registrar Dr Anil Kumar welcomed the gathering, and Srinivas University registrar of evaluation Dr Shrinivas Mayya delivered the vote of thanks.
Dr Ambika Mallya, Dr Vijayalakshmi Nayak, and Prof Rohan Fernandes compered the event.
