Mangalore: Physio Week Concludes with 8th All India Physiotherapy Conference

Mangalore, Jan 11: With the continuing success of Physio Week 2012 the 8th All India Physiotherapy Conference was organized by the South Canara Physioterapy Teacher’s Association  at Dr M V Shetty College of  Physiotherapy on Wednesday January 11.

The conference was inaugurated by Padma Bhushan Prof BM Hegde Retd vice-chancellor MAHE.

Prof B M Hegde in his address stressed on the dearth of the medical educational institutions in the state and emphasized on the establishment of authentic under programmes. He implored that the student delegates will become ambassadors of the physiotherapy profession in future.

The guests of honour were included chairman of Shree Devi Education Trust A Sadanand Shetty, MLA UT Khader and chairman of Physiotherapy Board of Studies RGUHS, Bangalore Dr Praveen Aaron.

U T Khader in his address pleaded humanity to prevail in education.

Dr M R Shetty congratulated the organizing committee for the continuing success of the Physio Week.

The U T Fareed and Naseema Fareed Gold Medal were awarded to the post graduate and Shobha Alva Gold Medal  was awarded to the unde4rgraduate scoring highest marks at AGUHS University examination.

Dr Ronak Hosabettu  from Dr MV Shetty College of Physiotherapy was awarded the U T Fareed and Naseema Fareed Gold Medal. The conference was attended by over 800 delegates.

The conference proceeded with lectures by eminent physiotherapists who enlightened he delegates on recent trends in the physiotherapy.

The conference saw a plethora of events such as poster presentation, model presentation, paper presentation and paper presentation(UG and PG). There were quiz competitions and other cultural competitions for the students of different physiotherapy colleges followed by foot tapping DJ at night.
