Udupi, Jan 11: MSRS College, Shirva, felicitated Prof Y Bhaskar Shetty, the principal of 23 years and president of Karnataka State College Principals Association, during a function held at the college auditorium on Monday January 9. Prof Shetty has served for 33 years so far.
Karkala Bhuvanendra College retied principal Prof B Padmanabha Gowda felicitated Prof Shetty and his wife Prabhavati, for his extraordinary contribution to the field of education in the state.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof Gowda said that alumni are the ambassadors of their respective colleges since they play a vital role in the progress of the educational institutions. “Success is assured for all those who put in honest work and show devotion to duties,” he added.
V Subbayya Hegde, in his chief guest’s address, lauded the efforts of Prof Shetty in developing infrastructural facilities at MSRS College where he has served as principal for a major part of his life.
MSRS College correspondent K Rajaram Shetty presided over the programme.
MSRS College principal Dr Sudhakar Marla, Gangadhar Shetty, and Jagdish Aras were present on the dais.
Alumnus Jayanti Shetty felicitated Prof Shetty on behalf of the institution. Shirva St Mary’s College principal Dr J C Miranda, lawyer Mattar Ratnakar Hegde, and Pre-University College principal Ganapati Bhat were also present.
Kuthyar Navin Shetty welcomed the gathering. Sacchidanand Hegde proposed the vote of thanks while Sandeep Shetty compered the programme.
