Mangaluru, Jan 28: The commerce department of St Agnes College organized an industrial trip for the final-year BCom students on January 13. The trip, aimed at providing practical exposure to industrial processes, began with a total of three buses arranged to transport the students and lecturers.
The first destination was the Bolas Cashew Industry. Students were introduced to the intricate processes involved in the production of dry fruits, including cashews, almonds, and walnuts. Each step, from sorting and roasting to packaging was demonstrated in detail.3
The managing director of the industry gave an insightful talk about the history of the business, sharing its journey and growth over the years. The session concluded with refreshments served to all, leaving the students with a warm and enriching experience.
The second visit was to the plastic industry in Padubidri. Students observed the manufacturing process of plastic products, including molding and recycling techniques. This visit highlighted the significance of sustainability and technological advancements in the industry.
After exploring the industries, the group took a lunch break, enjoying a well-deserved meal. The trip concluded with the students returning to the college, carrying valuable knowledge and cherished memories. The industrial trip was a remarkable learning experience, offering the students a practical understanding of production processes. The exposure to real-world business operations complemented their academic knowledge and encouraged them to apply these insights in their future endeavors.
