MP Capt Brijesh Chowta welcomes ETAG ‘Back To Ooru’, says Mangalure can be energy solutions hub

Mangaluru, Jan 27: Dakshina Kannada Member of Parliament Captain Brijesh Chowta welcomed the European Technology Alliance Group (ETAG), a globally renowned company specializing in energy innovations and advanced EV charging solutions to Mangaluru.

At a press meet organised regarding the same, Captain Brijesh Chowta expressed delight and said, “It gives me great joy to welcome ETAG ‘Back To Ooru’ and great pride to know that it has chosen Mangaluru as the location for its new global headquarters and manufacturing hub.”

“This investment underscores Mangaluru’s growing reputation as a hub for innovation, industry, and global collaboration. It aligns seamlessly with our prime minister Narendra Modi’s vision of making India a global leader in clean energy and sustainable technologies” he added.

The EOI was signed in the presence of ETAG Energietechnik chairman Prakash Pereira & CEO Jyothi Pereira and EZ officials including CEO Suryanarayana, CFO Ramesh Kumar and CA Nitin J Shetty.

ETAG’s relocation to Mangaluru is not just a business decision—it is a testament to the city’s ability to nurture industries that shape the future furthering our PM’s vision of ‘Make In India’.

Under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi, India is rapidly emerging as a global leader in the clean energy transition. With strategic investments in green hydrogen, electric vehicles, and energy storage syste among others, India is not only advancing its own energy transformation but also playing a key role in the global shift towards a cleaner, greener future.

In this direction, this investment by ETAG, which once operational, is projected to contribute USD 110 million annually to India’s exports, will strengthen our country’s presence in the global energy market as well as aid the making of Armanirbhar Bharat in this sector,” said Captain Brijesh Chowta, who is also a member of Parliamentary Standing Committee on Energy," expressed Capt Chowta.

He also said, “Multinational Energy & EV Infra Company will invest Rs 300 Crore at EZ facility and relocate headquarters and production facilities to Mangaluru."

Back To Ooru

“It is reassuring to see Mangaluruans eager to come “Back To Ooru” and invest in our ‘Ocean of Possibilities,” Chowta said.

“As I have said previously when we signed another EOI, again in the clean energy sector, just a few weeks ago, “Back to Ooru" initiative, which is part of my task-sheet Navayuga Navapatha ai to encourage successful Mangaluruans abroad to return and invest in our hometown; through this I’m committed to ensure we transform Mangaluru into a centre for innovation and sustainable development.

We should all put our heads together to engineer this tectonic shift— Mangaluruans who realised drea across the world should come ‘Back To Ooru’ to ensure our Gen next realises their drea here. And as our PM Says “yehi samay hai sahi samay hai,” he said.

“So I welcome ETAG’s and wish them the best to fuel an electric push for a new era of 'Make in Kudla', aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of 'Make in India’” said Captain Brijesh Chowta, urging more Mangaluruans across the globe to take a leaf out of these investments and plan to come ‘Back To Ooru’ at the earliest,” the MP said.

Speaking at the event, CEO Suryanarayana lauded the efforts of MP Captain Brijesh Chowta saying, “It is the restlessness of the MP to bring investors to Mangaluru that we are signing a second EOI within weeks of the first one. It gives me great pride to be part of this signing once again in such a short span of time”.

ETAG chairman Prakash Pereira addressed the gathering saying “it is with immense pride and excitement that we return ‘Back To Ooru’ to share this moment for ETAG Energietechnik & celebrate this signing of MoU for a state-of-the-art technology and research and manufacturing facility in EZ, marking a new era of innovation, sustainability and leadership from Namma Ooru Mangaluru”.
