Mangaluru, Jan 24: Mount Carmel Central School organised the kindergarten sports meet on Friday, January 24. It was a vibrant celebration of energy, enthusiasm and sportsmanship. The event commenced with a solemn prayer, followed by a warm welcome address by Sr Carissima, the administrator of the school, setting a spirited tone for the day's festivities. Bhavik and Joanna, brimming with joy, warmly greeted the audience, while Satwik presented a sapling to the chief guest, Teena D'Souza, the school’s physical education teacher.

A beautifully synchronized drill performance by the students of nursery, LKG and UKG showcased their coordination, discipline, and energy. The official inauguration took place with the release of colourful balloons by the chief guest, symbolizing freedom, joy and determination. Adding to the grandeur, a torch-bearing parade led by the young kids Bhavik, Calida, Ridhish, Jiana and Andrea brought a sense of tradition and pride to the event.

The chief guest, Teena D’Souza, the dedicated physical trainer of the school, delivered an inspiring message on the vital role of sports in shaping a child's holistic development. The day was filled with thrilling sports events, including the 75-meter race, rabbit race, Hula Hoop race, Zig-Zag race, 100-meter hurdles and ball throw, ensuring enthusiastic participation from every child. Medals and certificates were awarded to the winners, celebrating their achievements and encouraging them to aim higher. Continuous announcements added to the lively atmosphere, while refreshments energized everyone during the event.

The programme concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Jonathan, Annam and Inaya, who expressed sincere gratitude to everyone who contributed to the event’s success. It was a day filled with fun, excitement and lasting memories, where small steps set the stage for big leaps and future achievements.
