Panaji, Jan 3 (IANS): A Swedish army woman, arrested at Goa's Dabolim airport a day ago for carrying a live cartridge while boarding a Mumbai-bound flight, will be presented before a court for remand Tuesday, police said.
Deputy Superintendent of Police Deu Benaulikar said the Swedish embassy had not established any contact with the state authorities vis a vis the arrest of Inger Kristina Hardinz, an arms instructor in the Swedish army.
"We will produce her for remand. There has been no contact whatsoever made by the Swedish embassy," Benaulikar said.
Inger was boarding Indigo flight GE-196 when a live 5.56 mm cartridge was found in her hand baggage during the security check.
Upon interrogation, Hardinz, who told the authorities she was a qualified arms instructor with the Swedish army, said had "no idea" how the cartridge had slipped into her luggage.
Hardinz arrived in India Dec 23, 2011.
