New Delhi, Jan 14: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the UGC-NET examination scheduled for Wednesday, January 15, has been postponed. This decision comes in light of the Pongal and Makar Sankranti festivals.

The postponement follows a request made by Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin, who had written to Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on January 7, seeking rescheduling of the exam as it coincides with the Pongal festival.

"In the interest of aspirants, the National Testing Agency has decided to postpone the UGC-NET December 2024 exam scheduled on January 15, 2025, only. The new date will be announced later," the NTA stated.

It is important to note that the UGC-NET exam scheduled for January 16, 2025, will proceed as planned. Aspirants are advised to stay updated on the revised date for the postponed examination.
