Mangalore, Dec 27: Jerardin D'Souza, the recently nominated special invitee to the Karnataka State Minority Development Council (KSMDC) met Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge minister J Krishna Palemar at his residence on Monday December 26.
D'Souza sought the minister's guidance in executing the duties inherent with the nomination. They also discussed the various opportunities provided when allotting funds to the Council.
Since the government has given broad directions for the utilization of funds, they deliberated on the modalities of collecting applications from the needy and quick distribution of funds for study of professional courses, rural artisans, upgrading of technological know-how in rural home industries, women empowerment through self-employment, various skill developments like nursing, computer training, plastic technology, education loan for students, orphanages, old age homes, repairs to churches and subsidized housing loans.
D'Souza urged minister Palemar to allot an office space for him to carry out his activities.
