Bangalore, Dec 21: Karnataka Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda will inaugurate a two-day Kadambotsava, a festival of the Uttara Kannada district at Banavasi on December 24.
Primary and Secondary Education Minister Vishveshwar Hegde Kageri told reporters on Tuesday that Kadambotsava would be held at the Banavasi, once the capital of the Kadamba dynasty, who ruled the State.
The Chief Minister would also confer the prestigious Pampa award to renowned Kannada writer Chandrashekhar Patil, popularly known as ‘Champa’, the minister said.
A cultural extravaganza comprising music, dance, drama and other arts would be performed during the two day festival.
There would be performances from the renowned musicians, dancers and folk singers drawn from different parts of the country besides featuring local talents, he said.
