Panaji: Sonia Gandhi Lays Foundation for Vijay Smarak at fort Aguada

Panaji, Dec 18: Chairperson of National Advisory Council Sonia Gandhi laid the foundation stone for the Vijay Smarak at Fort Aguada here on Saturday December 17.

She was here to partake in the Golden Jubilee celebration of Goa's liberation from Portuguese rule following the Indian Army's Operation Vijay on December 19, 1961.

Union minister for defense A K Antony and chief minister Digambar Kamat were also present at the occasion.

North Goa MP Sripad Naik, MLA Angelo Fernandes and chief secretary Sanjay Srivastav were also present among others.
