Mangalore: Asif Bags 'Sri Dakshina Kannada' Title

Mangalore, Dec 15: Asif of Health Zone, K C Road near here, won the title, ‘Sri Dakshina Kannada’ at the Dakshina Kannada district level body building tournament organized at Dr B R Ambedkar Theatre in Tokkottu. Krishna Devidiga of Mangalore University won ‘Youth Student Dakshina Kannada – 2011’ title.

The tournament was held under the aegis of Dakshina Kannada District Amateur Body Building Association, Ullal. Asif got the title in the category meant for tall people. In this category, Sujit stood second, while the runner up position went to Pradeep.

In the category meant for people with shorter stature, Ashraf defeated his opponents. Shivanand and Rajesh secured second and third spots respectively.

In the medium category, Krishna Devadiga was adjudged the topper. Nagaraj came in at the second spot, while Pairoz got the third spot. In the category meant for super tall group, Nassir was the winner, pushing Mithun and Pravin to second and third positions respectively.  In the students’ category, Krishna Devadiga was adjudged the best. Sujit became the runner up, with Gururaj securing the spot behind him.

Chandrahas Ullal, president of Bhagavati Tiya Samaj, international body builder, Kishen Kumar, and Panambur circle inspector, Valentine D’Souza, distributed the awards. President of the organization, Dinesh Rai Kallige, general secretary, Bhaskar Tokkottu, and a number of other dignitaries were present.

Krishna Tokkottu welcomed the participants and the gathering. Pravin S Kumpala compered the programme.
